A Word From More Families

Shalawn provided prenatal, labor, and postpartum support, as well as placenta encapsulation for the birth of our first child.  I had a very unexpectedly fast home birth with only back labor.  My husband provided great support early on but I quickly progressed to a point where I was really feeling that I needed Shalawn's expertise and professional support. My husband also felt helpless because he was unable to do much to help me cope with my unrelenting back labor. Shalawn raced over and made me feel so much better; she also provided information to my midwife, who hadn't come because she thought I was still in early labor. Good thing she came when she did, because she ended up catching my daughter in the water about an hour and a half later!  I felt so much more comfortable having a doula with Shalawn's level of expertise and training. She was amazing during my early postpartum visits and even encapsulated my placenta in my home.
To be perfectly honest, I would feel hesitant having another baby unless Shalawn was there to support me!
